There are more avenues than ever to get art out to audiences. And yet, it seems that each change in the industry has made it harder for independent films to get made, and for new talent to break in. As a result, it has been said by “insiders” that lower budget films are no longer getting greenlit, and independent filmmakers are a dying breed.
We call bullshit.
Indie is not dying, in fact, it’s more vital to our species now than ever before. The human need to tell a story, to create thought-provoking, inventive, and spiritually-gratifying films remains as strong as ever, but there’s no doubt it’s being trampled upon by AI, by special interests with big money making films with the aim to mass indoctrinate, or that are solely focused on the bottom line.
It’s past time for indie filmmakers to adapt or fade away.
Introducing Graffi Films, under the aegis of Graffi Media Inc., a C Corp publishing and production house that offers indie filmmakers, film lovers, and investors more opportunity for success. We don’t think “outside the box,” we are totally out of the inner circle of Hollywood, and plan to stay there. It is the only way for the modern day filmmaker to expand and thrive.
Our goal is to make films that audiences love, but that also make money. To that end, we’ve devised unique, but legal (and proprietary), ways to generate revenue, not only for our financiers, but for ourselves, so that we can continue to do what we were born to do: find a great story and put it on screen for the world to see.

Niko Volonakis
A disciple of guerilla filmmaking, bilingual Niko is celebrated for his ingenuity, authenticity, and unfiltered vision. His work encompasses writing, directing, producing, cinematography, and composing. Apart from film, he is also the camera and editor of numerous music videos for various artists. Dubbed "the Frankenstein of indies" by his colleagues, Niko's skilled hand at editing has bolstered many worthy low-budget projects. By scrutinizing all available footage, he ensures every performance is elevated, every scene is enhanced, and most important to his investors, every available production dollar is maximized, a philosophy he brings to his directing as well. He has garnered festival awards for Best Music Score, Best Editing, and Directing.
Joshua Malekos
One of the most talented, hard-working, up-and-coming actors and filmmakers active today, Joshua Malekos’s philosophy is dedicated to the belief that if an opportunity does not happen along, one makes one’s own. Joshua is known for his determination, ingenuity, and business sense, the latter a skill backers of his work appreciate. He’s also proven his versatility as an actor, whose award-winning talents have garnered him a variety of roles, bringing depth and meaning to all his characters. Behind the camera, Josh has directed live streams and live-to-tape segments. He is a master at stewarding artists, focusing on each individual's special talents to bring out their best, resulting in a maximized outcome of any feature or short in which he is involved.
Nicholas Levis
Founder and CEO of BrandCinema, a development and production company for film, television, and digitalcontent, Nicholas is known as the “on-time-and-under-budget” producer, often called in to handle unexpected, challenging situations. As an EP/Partner at Forward Content, which boasts a roster of female creators and directors crafting work for the digital space across multiple platforms, Nicholas and his partners serve as an incubator for TV series, film, and digital projects. A bilingual who has produced in 10 nations and 30 states, Nicholas has developed and shot numerous scripted TV shows, worked on multiple web series, documentaries, and non-scripted series for various networks, and works on numerous projects yearly. Astutely spotting the rising-star talent and formidable work ethic of the Graffi Films team, Nicholas in his advisory/consultant capacity brings his expertise and guidance to all Graffi projects.
Patricia V. Davis
Bestselling author Patricia V. Davis wrote and produced the feature, Lyvia’s House, her first screenplay, for which she received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Lyvia’s House was released by Stonecutter Media in 2024, and was one of 321 films that qualified for an Oscar that year. With no prior film experience, Patricia raised the funds and produced the film on a five-figure budget, with a production value seasoned producers estimated to be in the high six figures. But what should be noted by financiers is what she did prior to her writing career: As the representative in Greece and Cyprus for Scholastic Inc., she singlehandedly increased their revenue in those two countries by 900%, a success she owes to her own perceptive methods of marketing and promotion. Piggybacking on these successes as well as her achievements as a novelist, she now brings that imagination and firmness of purpose to Graffi Films.
